ABOUT RODGER PRICE I am a retired Professional Photographer. Over my fifty years in business I have covered Wedding, Commercial, Industrial, Public Relation and Press Photography. I have been an active member of The Freelance Branch of the National Union of Journalists for over 45 years. How photography has changed over the past forty years. One could never have imagined in the 70,s a picture could appear on the front page of a newspaper anywhere in the world a few minutes after it was taken. In those days, when you were covering a Premiership football match in the evening, there was a motorcycle courier waiting beside you for the first couple of pictures you took to rush the film back to the newspaper office for processing and printing in time for the newsprint deadline. Now at half time all the photographers working for the daily newspapers plug their laptops into an internet terminal in the press room and send the first half pictures straight to their offices. Isn't digital photography fantastic. |
